Gwen Stefani shows excitement to perform with her band at Coachella. Gwen Stefani is excited to reunite with her No Doubt bandmates for Coachella, but she admits she still needs to finish some research before they perform in Indio, California, in April.
During a Wednesday night appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the singer discussed the No Doubt reunion with Adrian Young, Tony Kanal, and Tom Dumont after nearly ten years apart.
“I know it’s going to be amazing,” she stated. “I’m very excited, and I think what’s going to be hilarious is that I know what will happen. I’m going to get on stage, look around, and start laughing because it will be just like riding a bike. We’ll be like, “What are we doing?” We are in the future right now, at Coachella. “It will be bizarre.”
Stefani admitted that, despite the fact that the music event will not begin for several months, the trio has yet to begin preparing for their performance. She is aware, however, that she will need to relearn some of the rock group’s earlier classics.
“I don’t remember them at all. I do not! “I think I’m going to have to learn about eight or nine [songs],” she said, accidentally teasing one of the songs they’ll be performing. “We’re performing one of the first songs I ever wrote, ‘Different People.'”
Stefani quickly covered her mouth in surprise as the audience began yelling with delight, exclaiming, “I’m not supposed to!” Later, she attempted to correct herself and said, “We might do that one.”
Different People is a song from the band’s third album, Tragic Kingdom, which came out in 1995. No Doubt last reunited for their album Push and Shove in 2012, and their most recent live performance occurred in 2015.
This year’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival will feature the ensemble, Lana Del Rey, Tyler, the Creator, and Doja Cat as headliners.
