There are real ants in my computer, that’s for sure. Every PC gamer will sometimes have a problem or two, maybe even a bug or two. But how many people actually run into a real bug? A lot of people have dealt with ants at some point, either in the house or in the yard. But the little bugs that are taking over our computers are a bit scary.
Some gamers have said that ants have taken over their PCs, which is bad. However, “fire ants” taking over PCs sounds like a great idea for a game but not a great idea for real life. It looks like these little bugs (is an ant a bug?) are raising the temperature and hurting the thermal paste and pads.
Some people think that climate change is to blame for these poisonous and annoying fire ants. These species’ worker ants are pretty small, and they seem to be drawn to electromagnetic fields like other ants. Because of this, a hot, buzzing PC with all of its cracks and powered parts could be a tempting place to explore or even settle.
My CPU/GPU got infested by ants when I was gone for a month. I played games and ran benchmarks so they would come out cos of heat. Also left my pc running overnight but they still inside. Help

It goes without saying that you won’t want ants to live in your expensive graphics card if you spent a lot of money on the best cheap one you could find. Thejus_Parol on Reddit wrote, “I had to use a hair dryer to blow them out of there.” It’s also not easy to get rid of these ants once they find a place they like. Even after using isopropyl alcohol and bug spray on the table, Parol said, “another group of ants showed up and did the same thing—eating my GPU alive.”
A thorough search on the internet shows that ants have gotten into PCs and Macs many times before. Earlier reports have raised similar concerns about ants eating paste or heat pads, and you don’t have to look very far on the internet to find many examples.
